This response will be slightly different, as there is not a reading assigned to respond to for the day the response is due. Instead, you'll be reflecting on your own work-in-progress and connecting it to what we've read and discussed so far.
Take a look again at the prompt for the Statement of Goals and Choices. Consider this response as a space to brainstorm for that piece of writing, outlining some points that you might cover in your statements for the Nonlinearity and Choice Project.
First, discuss the choices you've made so far in your slice as well as the choices that you anticipate making, being as specific as possible. For instance, did you have to change your approach because of the limitations of the technology that you were working with? What affect did that adaptation have on your project? How have your goals for this project changed from the point of your initial idea to now? How do you anticipate them changing as you continue working?
Second, connect your process back to at least one of the readings from the course thus far. Feel free to discuss multiple readings if you see those connections already. Discuss how your work is informed by that reading, going beyond similarities in topic or approach to deeper considerations of process or rhetorical effects. For instance, rather than just saying that you were inspired by howling dogs to work with Twine, go into detail on what Twine allowed Porpentine to accomplish that a linear text would not have, and how you are taking up the possibilities of Twine in your own way.
You can expand beyond these points as well to address directions for your Statement of Goals and Choices--whatever is useful to you in preparing for that piece of writing.
Response due October 1 at 9:30am. Upload to your individual website.
